Idaho Democrats Discuss Jobs Package

ARE YOU UN-HAPPY, BUNKY?

Are you un-happy with your current crop of legislators in Boise? Don't know whether to laugh or cry when you read the paper? Well my friend, your local Democratic Party has openings for candidates to replace those yahoos and nabobs.

"Democrats are the Family Party - If it doesn't work for families it just doesn't work." If you believe in fair-play instead of bullying; if you see education as the great opportunity for our families; and are against crony-ism, privilege-ism and patriarchy; then you will probably find our philosophies and values a good match.

Democrats are looking for State Senators, State Representatives, Precinct Captains and more. Currently registrations for the May Primary are open from February 27th thru March 9th. After that its too late to get on the ballot. Contact your local Democratic Party (idahodems.org/counties) and let them know you are interested, we can help you evaluate the opportunities and help you develop the resources needed to run.

Contact a Democrat today about getting involved, or maybe for that person sitting down the bench from yourself that would make a great candidate.

Time's a-wastin’ - get a move on!

Twin Falls County
Won't Challenge
New Redistricting Map

Posted: Monday, January 30, 2012 4:42 pm

TWIN FALLS • It's not the map they want, but it's the map they need now.

They're still "dismayed" over Idaho's new political boundaries, but Twin Falls County officials won't repeat their challenge of the state's first attempt to redraw its legislative districts.

Idaho's redistricting committee agreed Friday on a map of new state legislative districts that splits only seven of Idaho's 44 counties in creating 35 legislative districts. That decision came after Twin Falls County and three other counties successfully challenged the constitutionality the commission's first map in the Idaho Supreme Court.

While the new map follows the high court's direction to split as few counties as possible - it splits five fewer than the previous map - Twin Falls County officials argue that the parsing of the county into three districts is unnecessary.

They might not like the map, but they're not going to sue over a plan they called "substantially better" than the first.
